Be Registered to Vote

An up-to-date voter registration is required to vote. Voters must be registered by August 25, 2026.
If you registered for a previous election, such as a U.S presidential election or a NJ Legislature race, you do not need to take an extra step for the school bond referendum unless you changed your name or address.

  • Check your voter registration status in the state database.
  • Register online, or update your name/address by completing a voter registration form.
  • Register by mail, print and mail a paper registration form.
    • Forms are available in English and Spanish. Mail your completed form to the Morris County Commissioner of Registration, PO Box 900, Morristown, NJ, 07963-9912.
    • Completed voter registration applications also can be delivered in person and deposited in the drop-off box available in the Lobby of the Administration & Records Building located at 10 Court Street, Morristown, NJ 07960.

Find more details about registering to vote from the Morris County Clerk website.

Two Ways to Vote

In-Person

  • Polls will be open Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
  • After the Board of Education finalizes poll times, they will be added here.
  • After Morris County Clerk’s Office finalizes poll locations, they will be added here.
  • If you arrive at the polls and are told that your ballot was already mailed to you, ask for a provisional ballot. This means your ballot will be considered after all in-person and mailed ballots are double-checked and processed.

By Mail

  • You can Vote By Mail in this referendum. If you have already requested a ballot to be mailed to you and if your address is the same, Morris County may send you a Vote By Mail ballot automatically before the election. Look online for information about voting by mail.
  • If you have questions or require assistance, contact the Election Office at elections@co.morris.nj.us.
  • To request a Vote By Mail ballot, download an English or Spanish application. The county must receive that application by September 8, 2026 to mail you a ballot, or by 3 p.m. on September 14, 2026 to give you a ballot in person.
  • When you receive your Vote By Mail ballot, fill it out and either:
    • Mail it in with a postmark on or before September 15, 2026 or
    • Deliver it in person to the County Clerk’s Office by 3 p.m. September 14, 2026.

Mail-in ballots cannot be submitted at polling places.
