Welcome to the Health Office!

School Nurse: Ms. Linda Ruta, RN, CSN

    973-292-2250 ext. 4

My job is to help you keep your child healthy and in school. Together we can do this most effectively!

Attendance: The school nurse maintains all attendance records. Please contact the nurse if your child is going to be absent or late for ANY reason. You can leave a message any time of day/night.

Sick/Emergency Visits: Please make sure your contact information is current so we are able to reach you. Your child MUST be kept home if they have a fever of 100 degrees or greater (without fever-reducing medications), vomiting, diarrhea or any other contagious condition.

Medications at School: The School Nurse or parent/guardian are the only ones permitted to administer medications to your child while they are in school. In order for ANY medications to be administed at school, a Medication Authorization Form must be on file and medication provided by parent. These forms are only good for one school year.

5th Grade Immunizations: NJ law requires all students who are 11 years old and entering 6th grade receive Tdap and Menactra immunizations. They will not be permitted to start at Frelinghuysen Middle School without this requirement. Avoid the rush and make an appointment near your child’s 11th birthday. Make sure you provide proof of these immunizations to the school nurse.
