You will receive an email from your child’s teacher with instructions for accessing virtual learning within two school days. This two-day time frame is needed for the coordination of your child’s academic support.
During the quarantine period, your child will be able to view their in-person classroom on their district-issued Chromebook via Google Meet and will access assignments via Google Classroom (K-5) or Canvas (6-12).
For K-5 students, an Academic Success teacher will also be available twice a day to meet virtually with your child to support their learning; the schedule for these check-ins will be emailed to you and your child within two school days. For 6-12 students, virtual tutoring through Paper can be accessed at any time.
Individually packed “grab & go” free breakfast and lunch can be picked up from 11:45 am - 12:15 pm at Morristown High School (50 Early Street), in back of the building near the flagpole, off of Atno Avenue.
For Questions or Support: Please contact your child’s school if you have any questions or if your child needs any academic, social, or emotional support while engaged in virtual learning. Health-related questions may be addressed to our District Nursing Coordinator, Paula Mendez, at email@example.com.
For the purposes of volunteers in classrooms/school events: YES, booster shots are required in addition to the primary vaccination series in order for someone to volunteer in the classroom. Volunteers that have not had their primary vaccination series and booster shots are able to volunteer by producing a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of volunteering. This is a mitigation strategy that aligns with current guidance from our local health officials.
