Use of District Facilities

The members of the Morris School District Board of Education recognize that the district facilities represent the largest jointly owned resource in the community. As such, they direct the administration to protect and properly maintain these assets. Additionally, they believe that these assets need to be made available to members of the community for their use beyond  the school day.

Serving as a community resource is the best way to maximize the return on the investment the residents have made in our schools and fields. As such, we welcome community members or organizations to utilize our school facilities when they are not in use by the instruction/extracurricular programs.

The Board of Education has policies and regulations that govern the use of district facilities; anyone wishing to utilize district facilities agree to abide by these policies. Listed below are a few of the more pertinent polices for your quick reference:

• 7510 - Use of School Facilities
• 7511 - Athletic Field Light Usage
• 7520 - Loan of School Equipment
• 5300 - Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
• 2431.4 - Prevention and Treatment of Sports Related Concussion and Head Injuries
• 5530 - Substance Abuse
• 7435 - Alcoholic Beverages on School Grounds
• 7434 - Smoking on School Grounds
• 7433 - Hazardous Substances
• 7440 - School District Security
• 7441 - Electronic Surveillance in School Buildings and on School Grounds
