** Jed Baker will be presenting on Dealing with Frustration, Anxiety, and Social Skills at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School on February 16, 2017 from 7:00-10:00pm. Tickets are $25, but the first 50 Morristown, Morris Township, and Morris Plains P.A.C.E. parents to reply will have a chance to attend for free. ** Michael Maguire and his award winning theatre company will be putting on Theatre for ALL, a sensory friendly performance of the spring musical Legally Blonde on Tuesday March 21, 2017 starting at 6:00 p.m. Students and families will have an opportunity to explore their seats and the theatre on Tuesday March 14, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. Feel free to bring fidgets, small toys, and snacks. Please see the attached save the date flyer and a link to the Morristown High School Theatre website for more detailed information. The Morristown High School Theatre Sensory Friendly site will be updated with print outs, videos, and more.....so stay tuned.

** On Thursday December 15, student leaders at FMS will receive a diversity and disability awareness training for Allies In Learning and Leading: Inclusive Network (ALL IN). Dr. Anjalee Nirgudkar, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Philip So, a graduate student at Columbia University, and Barbara Miller, a physical therapist, along with 3 student co-presenters will deliver their third informative presentation. The presentation will take place at 8:15 for 80 minutes. ALL IN is a program at MHS and FMS that emphasizes the importance that all students belong.
** Congratulations! Special Olympics: Project Unify has awarded the Morris School District with $1,500 for the 2015-2016 school year and $15,000 over the course of the next 3 years to enhance the ALL IN Program and inclusive P.E. activities. ** A huge thank you to our MHS student, Andrew Chin, who generously donated $550 to ALL IN. Andrew raised money through a Blindness Awareness Day he held at MHS on October 4, 2014, in which enough funds were raised to post Braille signs around the school in addition to the ALL IN donation. Andrew is working towards earning is Eagle Scout badge. Congratulations, Andrew, we are so proud of you!

Kids to Kids is a non-profit organization for high school students located in Morristown. The group offers high school peer mentors to assist students with special needs during a variety of activities in the areas of swimming and art. Please click here for a brochure on Kids to Kids.
