Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten Registration Procedures, Schedule, and Required Documents (Spanish)
Parents of children who will be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2012 may register their child for kindergarten in the Morris School District for the 2012-2013 school year between the hours of 9:30 AM and noon at the Lafayette Learning Center (31 Hazel Street, Morristown) on the following dates:
Children whose last name begins with the letters A-E may register on
Wednesday, February 1
Children whose last name begins with the letters F-L may register on
Wednesday, February 8
Children whose last name begins with the letters M-R may register on
Wednesday, February 15
Children whose last name begins with the letters S-Z may register on
Wednesday, February 22
At the time of registration, the incoming Kindergarten child must be present and the following documents will be required along with the completed forms listed below:
- Child’s birth certificate (raised seal)
- Proof of owning or renting a home in Morristown or Morris Township (lease or property tax bill) and two other proofs of residence. These may include current utility bill (phone, gas/electric, cable, etc.) or bank/credit card bill showing current address.
- Child’s immunization records
In addition to the required documentation noted above, the following registration forms also will be be required. These forms may be downloaded and completed prior to registration.

If you are unable to make your scheduled registration date as noted above, you may register at Alfred Vail, Hillcrest, Woodland, or Normandy Park schools on Wednesday, February 29 between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
At the time of registration parents/guardians will be asked to indicate their preference for either the traditional or multiage program. Each of the District's primary (K-2) schools and the multiage magnet school (K-5) have planned special kindergarten visitation days in order to introduce parents to the kindergarten program prior to registration.
