Field Trips
As of 2009 any class field trip, in New Jersey, must have Board of Education approval before a student can leave the school campus. Thus the process for approval of a trip is as follows:
1. The Class Trip Estimated Cost Template is completed and presented to the building administrator. It is authorized and sent to Scott Montague in the Curriculum Office.
TIP: Any field trip you are even just pondering over should be submitted, even if the date is not settled. At this point the goal is to get the destination and trip concept approved.
2. The Field Trip Spreadsheet is completed, in the administrative office of each school, with any additional (after September 27, 2011) trips highlighted in red font. Upon updating please email to Phyllis Stec in the Curriculum Office.
TIP: Please note the date after which the field trip can take place once it is approved. Consider that BOE meetings at times get rescheduled and as such, again, please submit any potential experiences as early as is possible.
