6-8 Social Studies

The middle school social studies program conforms to the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards in Social Studies. The course of study develops students’ content knowledge and skills in the study of the United States, the larger world, and the social science strands of geography and civics.

  • Sixth grade students study the eastern hemisphere and geography tools and concepts.
  • Students in grade seven study the western hemisphere and the ancient world/medieval times.
  • Social studies in grade eight offers a survey of the principal periods in United States history as well as a study of civics.
