Registration of students transferring into the District for Grades Kindergarten through Five may be completed at any elementary buildings; however, assignment of a transfer student to a particular school is based on location of residence and space availability.

Exchange Students
Exchange students who will be residing with a Morris School District family and who are participating in a recognized, credentialed program may apply for admission to Morristown High School. Documentation of academic performance, attendance, and recommendations must be provided, as well as proof of residence from the host family.

Academic Records
Academic records are needed to determine the placement of students transferring into the District; the school will verify attendance and grade level with the previous District. Guidance counselors review transcripts of students entering Morristown High School to ensure scheduling of appropriate courses.

If a student does not have a transcript, the counselor will contact the prior school and request information by phone or fax to facilitate prompt scheduling. If there are difficulties in obtaining the transcripts which would result in the student's registration being delayed for an extended period, the counselor will develop a tentative schedule of courses and inform the parent and student that this will be changed when transcripts arrive from the prior district.
