The District establishes dates each Spring for Kindergarten registration and publicizes this information through area preschool programs, newspaper notices, and mailings. Following these dates, parents may register children for Kindergarten at any of the elementary buildings.
Children are assigned to specific buildings based on a variety of factors:
- Location of residence
- Enrollment levels in each building
- Application for the District's magnet school at Normandy Park.
In order to begin kindergarten, a child must attain the age of 5 by October 1of the kindergarten year. The incoming student
should
be present at the time of registration, and parents/guardians
must present the following documentation:
- Child’s original birth certificate
- Proof of owning or renting a home in Morristown
or Morris Township
- Two different utility
bills
- The child’s immunization records

Kindergarten registration Schedule for 2008-2009
school year
Morristown and Morris Township residents who
wish to register a child for kindergarten in the Morris School District
for the 2008-2009 school year may do so during kindergarten registration
dates which will be held during late February and early March.
Registration will be done alphabetically, based on the first letter of the child's last name.

Registration will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM each day at
Alexander Hamilton School, Mills Street, Morristown.
