ATTORNEY

The attorney of the Board of Education shall be the legal adviser of the Board and its officers in questions related to their official duties. All questions are to be presented to the attorney by the Board President, the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent(s), or the Director of Human Resources.

The Attorney shall:
  1. Represent the Board in legal proceedings;

  2. Give a written or oral opinion on all legal questions referred as above;

  3. Attend Board meetings, conferences and other meetings as requested by the Board Superintendent or Board President;

  4. Fulfill such other legal duties as the Board my assign.
The compensation of the attorney shall be approved annually at the meeting at which he/she is appointed.

In order to provide future Boards a history, the Attorney shall be evaluated by the Board annually.
