ADULT/COMMUNITY EDUCATION
Morris School District Community School Recognizing that learning is a lifelong process involving the acquisition of new knowledge, skills and attitudes, Morris School District has established a community school to endeavor to offer community members of all ages opportunities to participate in educational, vocational, physical and social programs. The Board of Education authorizes the establishment of a community education advisory council which shall make recommendations with respect to program offerings based on surveys of community interest and shall recommend means for evaluating the success of the community education program. Membership on the community education advisory council shall be by appointment by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent or his/her designee. All citizens are encouraged to make their needs known to the community education advisory council. The board will adopt curricula and programs for the community schools where they appear of significant benefit to the community. It is the intent of the board that the community education program operate on a self-sustaining financial basis insofar as possible. To this end, the Superintendent or his/her designee shall investigate all possible sources of outside funding and take advantage of all qualified volunteer help.
