ACCELERATION
When a pupil achieves so far beyond the grade level of placement that enrichment of the program cannot meet his/her academic needs, a teacher may recommend acceleration to the principal. The principal, the teacher and other appropriate members of the staff shall, in consultation, decide whether the pupil's social and emotional development would also benefit.. The principal shall consult the parents/guardians when the staff has recommended acceleration. The parents/guardians shall have final approval.
