INSURANCE
The board recognizes the need for insurance coverage for unforeseen accidents which may occur in the course of attendance at school or pupil participation in the athletic and extra-curricular programs of the school. For that reason the board will provide insurance coverage for injury resulting from accidents sustained by pupils in school, on school grounds, at an activity sponsored by the school or while traveling between home and school. This coverage shall be provided on a “full excess” basis, meaning that parents/ guardians must first claim benefits under any other medical coverage they may have. The board will provide parents/guardians the opportunity to purchase auxiliary round-the-clock insurance coverage at their own expense. The board secretary/business administrator shall recommend suitable and qualified insurance carriers for board consideration.
