The Board of Education requires that written criteria and procedures be maintained for presenting letters, scholarships and other suitable awards to pupils for academic achievement, artistic achievement, athletics, and distinguished service to the school community, or excellent performance in any school activity.
The Superintendent shall review, approve, or reject proposals for awards, trophies, prizes and other forms of recognition for any school-related activity. In all cases, the purpose of the awards or other forms of recognition should relate to the goals of the schools.
Recognition by Board of Education
The Board will recognize outstanding achievement (which includes county, state, national, intramural competition, etc.) or service by individual pupils or groups of pupils as a regular part of public board meetings.
