SALARY, CHECKS AND DEDUCTIONS

Except for deductions for absence not covered by paid leave or those required by law or negotiated agreement, all deductions made from salary shall be subject to Board of Education approval and voluntary on the part of the individual employee. For all voluntary deductions, the employee shall complete a form authorizing the deduction.
The Board of Education has approved deductions for:
  1. Membership dues in recognized collective bargaining units. Dues shall be deducted only upon receipt of an authorization card signed by the individual employee. The procedures to be followed in such dues check-off shall be in accordance with terms of the contracts negotiated with the organizations;

  2. Deductions for employee contributions to any insurance/annuity or credit union programs which are or may be approved by the Board of Education;

  3. Deductions for deferred summer payment (10-month employees).
